Crannogs were found in Ireland during the Iron Age and early Christian periods.

Craggaunowen provides an opportunity to experience the past as it once was in a beautiful forest in East Clare. Attractions include a fully reconstructed crannóg and ring fort as well as the Brendan Boat and a couple of fulacht fia, ogham Stones and an iron-age roadway scattered around the walk. He has been known to come over a couple times a year to partake in the beautiful countryside and some golf.
